In 2012, following my graduation from Rundle Academy, I received the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship. this scholarship exemplifies my hard work and commitment in pursuing my personal educational goals. This award demonstrates that I could achieve academic excellence, despite a learning disability. I have included this in my portfolio because I believe that my unique experience as a student with a learning disability will make me a stronger teacher. I believe every student has the capacity to be a successful learner, provided they have access to appropriate resources. It is the responsibility of the teacher to assess the needs of their students, and create a positive and effective learning environment in which every student has the opportunity to be successful.
